We invite you to join us Twana Harris and Dean Phelps, both ordained pastors and gifted musicians, as they sing, “It is Well With My Soul” for our DisciplesNet viewers from our DisciplesNet studio. Devotional prayer – Philippians 4:4-7
“Lord, I just can’t keep from crying”
Rev. Dr. Twana A. Harris sings “Lord, I just can’t keep from crying,” written by “Blind Willie Johnson” on this short prayer video that includes photos, video, and scripture.
What do you do when something in life has happened that is heart-wrenching, and leaves us where not knowing what to do, except to cry with all we have within us? What if this happens when you are not able to get to a physical church to pray? We hope that our video may help a small amount for you. DisciplesNet is a church on the internet, crossing barriers and boundaries to share the Good News of God’s redeeming love, and we have created this video for just such times. .
We believe that in each of our deepest sorrow and trouble, that God is there, enfolding us in love, hearing our cries and seeing our tears that fall, while wanting us to know that we are not alone. In the Bible, our cries of sorrow, and pain are called a lament. The Bible’s Lamentations is a book about sharing our tears, sorrow, and grief when God in our toughest times. Laments can help us in our road to healing and wholeness.
This short video is also a prayer of lament, a gift shared by Reverend Doctor Twana A. Harris, singing for all who may be able to use the video to help share with God their own pain, sadness, and grief. Perhaps it could help you if you are in the position of great sorrow but not knowing where or how to begin.
If you have come here in a time of trouble and sorrow, we would like you to know that DisciplesNet Church cares, too, and has prayed for all who join us out of such a difficult time in your life. We pray that you may feel the love of God enfolding you in your sorrow, and sense the healing Spirit that comes from sharing your tears with God.
Wishing you peace,

“Yo te busco”
Here at DisciplesNet we have a team of youth who are working as video interns, learning, teaching, and just helping us explore how video can be used to connect people in ministry. Lately each has been working to create short videos that could bring peace or inspiration to those of you out there who will connect with us, or can pass these works along to. This is the latest offering, from rising 9th-grader Francisco. He uses many of his own photos, and lyrics of the beautiful “Yo te Busco” (Lord I Seek you: in the three language worlds he navigates: Spanish, English, and some “twittish” thrown in for good measure. His father is doing the singing. Thanks so much, Francisco, for your gift; we hope it will be a blessing to all who view this and pass it along.
