On Eagles Wings

We invite you to join us in the uplifting song, “On Eagles Wings.” This is sung by two pastor-musicians, Twana Harris and Dean Phelps, who came to our DIsicplesNet studio to sing hymns and spiritual songs for our DisciplesNet audience around the world. We hope that you will be uplifted in listening, and singing along if you would like. After the song you will find the scripture reading that the song was written about: Isaiah 40:28-31.
This video has a special Dedication to persons struggling in the aftermath of the May 2013 tornadoes in Oklahoma as this video was being created, as well as all others who are dealing with the storms of life.

DisciplesNet is an online church and ministry that reaches out using the internet, crossing barriers and boundaries to share the Good News of God’s love. We believe that God’s love is for all people without exception, including people who may not be able to be part of a traditional church. It is Well With My Soul

We invite you to join us Twana Harris and Dean Phelps, both ordained pastors and gifted musicians, as they sing, “It is Well With My Soul” for our DisciplesNet viewers from our DisciplesNet studio. “Lord, I just can’t keep from crying”

Rev. Dr. Twana A. Harris sings “Lord, I just can’t keep from crying,” written by “Blind Willie Johnson” on this short prayer video that includes photos, video, and scripture.

What do you do when something in life has happened that is heart-wrenching, and leaves us where not knowing what to do, except to cry with all we have within us? What if this happens when you are not able to get to a physical church to pray? We hope that our video may help a small amount for you. DisciplesNet is a church on the internet, crossing barriers and boundaries to share the Good News of God’s redeeming love, and we have created this video for just such times. .
We believe that in each of our deepest sorrow and trouble, that God is there, enfolding us in love, hearing our cries and seeing our tears that fall, while wanting us to know that we are not alone. In the Bible, our cries of sorrow, and pain are called a lament. The Bible’s Lamentations is a book about sharing our tears, sorrow, and grief when God in our toughest times. Laments can help us in our road to healing and wholeness.

This short video is also a prayer of lament, a gift shared by Reverend Doctor Twana A. Harris, singing for all who may be able to use the video to help share with God their own pain, sadness, and grief. Perhaps it could help you if you are in the position of great sorrow but not knowing where or how to begin.

If you have come here in a time of trouble and sorrow, we would like you to know that DisciplesNet Church cares, too, and has prayed for all who join us out of such a difficult time in your life. We pray that you may feel the love of God enfolding you in your sorrow, and sense the healing Spirit that comes from sharing your tears with God.

Wishing you peace,
Pastors at DisciplesNet Church

DisciplesNet exists to share God’s love over the internet, especially for people who are feeling disconnected from church and communities of faith.

SV009-peace, 7 x 7 Prayers for Peace

Today’s Devotion

Join us on this 9-minute guided prayer for peace and healing in the wake of violence and terrorism including, but not only the September 11 events in the USA. We know that such violent acts happen all over the world, leaving people struggling with where to start in their prayers. This is one small offering to help in the process of healing.

In our 7 x 7 prayers for peace, we light 7 candles, each directing us toward a particular prayer need. Each candle then offers 7 more prayers, drawing from Jesus’ instructions about forgiveness, 7 x 70 times. So we make steps toward that healing and forgiveness. Continue reading
