This week we celebrate “Hospitality”, as Janet Spaulding reminds us of the many ways in which we can offer hospitality to others.  It’s especially relevant for Disciples of Christ, because the Week of Compassion is observed during the week of February 19-26.  In other traditions, special offerings for disaster relief and refugee assistance may be observed at slightly different dates.  As we examine Matthew 25:31-40,  we are reminded that whatever we offer to the stranger, or those in need, we offer to Jesus himself.  We hope you enjoy the many “images of Christ” that are included in this service.

Our music is provided by the DisciplesNet Choir (“Come Share the Lord); the congregation of Southport Christian Church (“When You Do This, Remember Me”); Rosa Page Welch (“When I Needed a Neighbor”), a classically-trained singer and lecturer, also involved in the civil rights movement in the USA; and Phoebe Spier, backed by Dean Phelps (“I Love You, Lord”).  You are invited to sing along if you wish.

We hope you will join us for this short time of worship (just under 30 minutes), and will be blessed by participating.  If you would like to participate in communion near the end of the service, please have a piece of bread and a cup of juice ready as we bless the table, or you may partake symbolically,  Please tell friends, family, and others about our online church, that is here with doors that never close, walls as wide as the world, and always with room at the table.
