28-Nov-21 (Luke 21:25-36)

There are signs that are important right now, like the sign that says the bridge is out ahead one the signs Jesus is talking about in the gospel story for today.
There are also signs that are important all the time, whenever we encounter them. This table is such a sign. It stands before us, in all times, reminding us of the God who cared so much that even sin and death were not an obstacle to that love.
So follow the signs to encounter again the God who loves you.

Prayer:

God whose love we know in Jesus Christ, we thank you for your Son. Jesus is the one who taught us your way and showed us your love in a human being. Jesus is the one who reveal that love in enduring pain, suffering, and death at our hands to show us that we ourselves can't overcome that love.
Thank you for this table that reminds us of all of that. Thank you for these symbols of his sacrifice for us. As we take the bread and cup, we pray also for your Spirit, that we may become signs that also point to you in what we say and even more in what we do. In the name of Jesus, our King, Amen.
