11-Jul-21 (Mark 6:14-29)

In today's story from the gospel, people were having trouble trying to figure out who Jesus was. People were (and still are) always having trouble figuring out Jesus. That's because Jesus was always saying things and acting in ways that people didn't expect him to.
So... I'm going to ask you that question! Who do you think Jesus is? [wait for answers]
Those are some good answers. Here's one more: Since we can't see God, sometimes God is hard to figure out. But we can see what Jesus did and how he lived and that helps us understand God better, especially how we can love God back and how we can love others as God wants us to do.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you that you gave us Jesus to show us how much you love each of us and how we can love you and others. Help us to understand you better through Jesus. Help us to be more like Jesus. Help us to do the things that Jesus did.
