What a great thing to hear: "Your sins are forgiven." If we think about it carefully, most of what we suffer and most of what we may even bring on ourselves comes back to sinfulness. So knowing that we're forgiven removes a great weight from our shoulders.
As we come to the table, we receive the symbols of Jesus body broken, and blood given to free us from sin and death. So, hear these words now: "Your sins are forgiven."
Let us pray.
God, who rich forgiveness knows no bounds and fully overcomes our tendency to sin, we thank you for Jesus, who came to teach us how to live and died that we might live with you.
We thank you for these symbols that remind us that he gave his life for us. As we take them, let us recommit to living our lives for him.
Fill us with your Spirit, Lord, that we might share the Good News of Jesus and spread his love and reconciliation wherever we go.
In the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
