Offering Meditation for Pentecost – 8-Jun-25
8-Jun-25 Pentecost Sunday (John 14:8-17)
Jesus says, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father." and Jesus lived such a life of service to others and to God that that was true. For us, we can hope that whoever sees us can catch a glimpse of Jesus in our actions and our words.
We aspire to live lives of service to others and to God so that people can see God through us. One way we can do that is to give of our time, our talent, and our treasure to visit the sick and dying and those in prison, to give to help the poor and suffering, and to show in word and deed that God through us loves each and every one completely.
That's something to think about as our deacons come to take up our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me now in a spirit of prayer.
God, whose very nature was shown so well in Jesus, we thank you for Jesus and the example he gives of what it means to reflect you. We thank you for all the ways you bless us and pray that you would bless us with generous hearts as well to give of those blessings for your work in this world.
Use us as vessels for your love. Let others see you in us.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
