What do you do when you're tempted to do something you know isn't right? [wait for answers]
Our gospel story for today tells about one time when Jesus was tempted, and he was tempted by the same things that we're tempted by. He was tempted by things he wanted and needed. He was tempted by wanting others to do what he wanted. He was tempted to ask God for things that would make his life easier rather than asking God to help others.
Do you know what Jesus did when he was tempted?
He used the things that God had already told him to know that the things that were tempting him were wrong. He spent time with God in prayer and that helped him too.
Let's do that right now.

Prayer:

God, we thank you that you sent us Jesus as our great example. Help us to do what Jesus did and remember what you've taught us when we're tempted to do something wrong. Help us to spend time with you in prayer so we can learn what is right.
