What do you think it means to welcome someone? [Wait for answers]
In the scripture for today, Jesus says that, when we welcome someone because Jesus asked us to, it's the same as if we welcome Jesus himself. How do you think it would make things different if we treated each person who visited us as if they were Jesus? Wouldn't that be great for the folks we just met? [Wait for answers]
Let's talk to God about that.

God, we thank you for the people you send to us for us to meet and get to know. We thank you that Jesus welcomed all of us and showed us how much you love us. Help us to welcome others as you've asked us to do. Help us to welcome them as if they were you.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
