25-Jul-21 (John 6:1-21)

In today's story from the gospel, Jesus feeds a whole lot of people starting with just 5 loaves of bread and a few fish. Now a lot of folks have puzzled over how that happened, but that's not really the point. The point is that here in the Church, we often see things that seem impossible to do with what we have. "We've only got a few fish and some bread! What do we do?"
Well, amazingly, a lot of times in the Church we also find that, even though it seems like we've only got a little bit, when Jesus is there, there's enough. What little we have seems to be multiplied until we have what we need to help folks. We're not sure how. We really can't explain it. But it happens all the time.
Now you may have even run into that yourselves. You're smaller than most folks. You don't have a lot of money or other things to help. But when Jesus is there, you'll be surprised to see that it's enough to help other people you see around you.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you that you gave us Jesus to show us how we can serve you by helping others. Sometimes we think we just don't have enough to make a difference. Help us to remember that when you're here, there's enough.
