Children’s Moment (Gospel) for Reign of Christ C – 23-November-25
23-Nov-25 (Luke 23:33-43)
When people make fun of you and say mean things about you, it probably makes you angry and maybe even angry enough to think about mean things you could say about them.
But when Jesus was being made fun of and the people around him said very mean things to him, he didn't do that.
It may sound odd, but people noticed, even one of the people on the cross right next to him noticed and realized that Jesus was who people said he was. He asked Jesus to remember him and Jesus said that he would be with him in heaven.
When we do things that show love and kindness to others, people will notice and probably wonder why we're like that. That will give us a chance to tell them about God's love for them, just like Jesus did.
Let's talk to God about that.
God, we thank you that you love us and gave us Jesus to show us your love and to show us how to love others. Help us to show your love, even when people aren't very loving toward us.
We pray in Jesus' name.
AMEN.
