Offering Meditation for Easter 4C – 11-May-25
11-May-25 Fourth Sunday of Easter (John 10:22-30)
Jesus' sheep hear his voice and listen to it. How can we tell if we are listening? We can tell when we're doing the same things that Jesus did. We can tell when we're visiting the sick and dying, when we're caring for the poor and those whom society tends to forget, when we're welcoming the outsiders and strangers. We can tell when we're caring for the sheep just as Jesus did.
We have an opportunity now, to help in the ministries of Jesus in our world today. By generously giving of ourselves and our resources, we can help Jesus' flock both in our midst, in our community, and in the larger world.
Let's commit to doing just that as our deacons take up our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in the spirit of prayer.
God, who showed us your love in the person of our shepherd Jesus, help us to continue the work that Jesus began, caring for your sheep, both near us and throughout the world.
Bless us that we can be a blessing and bless these offerings that they can be put to good use in your work.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
