Offering Meditation for Epiphany 3A – 25-Jan-26
25-Jan-26 (Matthew 4:12-23)
"The people who dwelled in darkness have seen a great light."
But what exactly have they seen, perhaps something having less to do with physical light and more to do with life-giving and life-sustaining things.
When we participate in the work of the Church, whether it's directly with our own talents and abilities, or through our offerings providing the means for others to do so, we bring light and life into the world.
So, let's give generously, that those who have dwelled in darkness will see the light of God's love through our work.
Prayer:
Please join me now in a spirit of prayer.
God who shines the light into our darkness, we thank you for all the ways you light our lives.
Help us to give of ourselves so others will not have to dwell in darkness any longer.
Bless these offerings that they will bring light and life wherever they are used.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Lord, Amen.
