Offering Meditation for Easter 6a – 10-May-26
10-May-26 (John 14:1-14)
The Holy Spirit is meant for us to be a sign of God's presence with us, to help us to recognize that God's presence is always nearby. But the writer of James warns us, that the one who does not show love to their brothers and sisters here on Earth that they have seen cannot truly love God whom they have not seen. We show that we know the love of God by acting in love for God's children, providing food and clothing and shelter to those in need, providing comfort for those who are suffering, providing justice in a world where justice is scare.
We do this through our own efforts and time, but we also use the offerings we collect to send others to do that for as our representatives.
Consider giving generously to allow this work to continue.
The deacons will now come and collect the offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
God of us all, who has given us your spirit to guide us, help us to give of ourselves and our resources to allow others to see your love in deeds of loving kindness.
Bless these gifts, that they will be put to use in meeting the needs of your children.
We pray in the name of your son, Jesus, AMEN.
