Offering Meditation for Easter Sunday – 5-Apr-26
5-Apr-26
We have spent our time recounting and remembering the stories of Jesus presence with his disciples following his death on the cross. Somehow, the sense of that presence was enough to propel them outward into the world to share that love with others. The way they did that was not just in words, but also in concrete deeds. They cared for the sick and dying. They visited people in prison. They fed and clothed the poor. People learned about who God was by seeing God in the actions of the Church.
Now it's our turn to do the same. We can give of our time and efforts. We can give of our resources and people in our world and time can see God in what we say and do.
Consider your part in that as the deacons come to collect our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in an attitude of prayer.
God of us all, who's power lives in us and brings us to truly live,
We thank you for Jesus, who showed us both the depth of your love for us and also that the powers of this world cannot separate us from that love, help us to be instruments of that love in what we say and do and also in the ways we send others out to do your work where we cannot ourselves reach.
We pray for these gifts, given back into your hand to use in your work. My they bring the truth and power of your love wherever they reach.
We pray in the name of our risen Lord, AMEN.
