Offering Meditation for Palm/Passion Sunday 29-Mar-26
29-Mar-26 (Isaiah 40:4-9a)
Isaiah's words for today talk about one who did not return evil for evil. That's a model for us as well, but we're also called to, as Jesus did, bring good into the world, to show the Realm of God coming into being.
We do that by giving our ourselves and our resources, to help those without food, clothing, or shelter, to visit the sick, the dying, and those in prison, to work for justice, especially for those who are likely to be forgotten by our society.
We do that by giving generously for the work of the church so that our reach goes farther than we can ourselves.
Consider how you can give as the deacons come to collect our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
God who is with us in all of the times of our life, help us to bring your presence, in tangible ways to those who most need it in this world. Give us generous hearts to give freely.
Bless these offerings as well, that they would provide for the needs of others well beyond where we can physically go.
We pray in the name of Jesus our Christ,
AMEN.
