Offering Meditation for Proper C28 – 16-Nov-25
16-Nov-25 (Luke 21:5-19)
In the midst of things that seem to be going out of control, we long for peace and justice in our world. But longing for peace and justice has to be accompanied by working for those things ourselves. In the midst of fearsome times, we need to follow God's leading to become pillars of stability and strength for others to lean on.
Much of that is giving of our time and our own special abilities to help others. Part of that is also giving our financial resources to support the work of others who can reach where we cannot.
That's the opportunity that presents itself right now as the deacons come to collect our offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
God, who love knows no boundaries and has no end, help us to represent you in this world by bringing love and comfort to those who are suffering, help to those who are in need, and our time, our treasure, and our talent to let other people see that you are still present in this world.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
