Offering Meditation for Proper 11a – 19-July-26
19-July-26 (Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43)
Our job as Christians is not to determine the worthiness of those to whom we render aid. Just like those weeds and wheat in the parable. We really don't know what will become good in time and that's not the point anyway. The point is that we are called to provide aid to those who need it, especially those who lack the very things that make life possible: food, water, a safe place to stay.
So, as we come to the time of offering, consider how you might give in order to help those in need, regardless of who they are.
Prayer:
Please join me in an attitude of prayer.
God of all of us, we thank you that you love us and have blessed us in so many ways. Help us to be generous with what we have and who we are.
Bless these offerings as well, that they would be used to help meet the needs of people in need.
We pray in Jesus' name, AMEN
