What do each of us have to give? Mary and Martha represent two very different sets of gifts and predilections. Martha is the one whose gifts center around hospitality and giving through making a loving presence. Mary is the one whose gifts involve studying at the feet of Jesus and sharing what she learns with others. There are many other gifts and so, there are many different ways we have to give of ourselves to bring the Realm of God into being.
We're all called to offer from what we have in gratitude for all that God gives us...
And here's one opportunity to do so right now.
The deacons will be coming to take up our financial offerings for today. As they do, consider your gifts, and resources and decide how you will give.

Prayer:

Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
God whose gifts run a great diversity, so that your people will lack nothing, we pray for generous hearts, to give of what we have for your will and your Realm to be a reality on this earth.
We pray for these gifts, that they would be used wisely and for those same purposes. Let them go before us and meet the needs of those who have little or nothing. Let them speed the Good News of your love for all people to the whole world. Let them support your work in our community, our nation, and in the world.
In the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
