2-Aug-26 (Matthew 14:13-21)

There are lots of ways to interpret the story of Jesus feeding 5000 men (plus women and children.) However you interpret the story, one thing is clear: When the people of God are gathered together, no one gets left out.
In our world today, there are many people who are one the outskirts of society, usually forgotten, usually ignored, having to do without many of the things the rest of us take for granted. One of the ways the Church demonstrates God's love for all is reaching out to those who are in need, those who are suffering, those who are forgotten. Not just reaching out with a kind word, but with real concrete actions that demonstrate the love of God in tangible ways.
Our offerings go to do that work.
Consider how you can participate in the work through what you give as the deacons come to take up our offering for today.

Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
God who is generous with all of us, bless us too with generous and caring hearts, that through our gifts, others would experience your love for them.
Bless these gifts themselves, that they would be put to use in work that pleases you.
