Offering Meditation for Proper C16 – 24-Aug-25
24-Aug-25 (Luke 13:10-17)
There are many things that aren't quite right in this world. There are people who suffer every day, not only because of physical and mental issues, but also because of there are systems that don't serve properly and sometimes even do harm. There are people who are lonely and outcast. There are people whose inherent worth as human beings and children of God is called into question. There are people who need food, shelter, and clothing.
A large part of the work of the Church is seeking to help folks like these, reaching out as a sign of God's love for all people and working to bring wholeness and peace.
Just one of the ways we do this is through our financial gifts. We can't be everywhere, but we can support those who can be where we cannot. We can't do everything, but we can support those who can do what we cannot.
Consider what you can give for the ongoing work of the Church.
The deacons will now come and take up the offering for today.
Prayer:
Please join me in a spirit of prayer.
Lord God, gracious giver of all good things, we return for your use, a portion of how you have richly blessed us. Use these gifts and multiply them, that your work will continue in our world.
Bless us as well, with generous and giving hearts, that we will be moved to participate in and support your work in our community, our nation, and our world.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
