Offering Meditation for Proper C20 – 21-Sep-25
21-Sep-25 (Luke 16:1-13)
Those who are faithful in small things will also be faithful in larger things. When we're faithful in the small things like giving a portion of our financial resources to the work of the Church, it helps prepare us to be faithful when a lot more is asked of us. It's a spiritual exercise to build up our giving "muscles" in order to be able to endure when we're called on to give much or even give all in seeing God's work of redeeming love is experienced in our world.
So, as the deacons come to take up our offering for today, consider how you can be faithful in the small way and start building up the ability to give.
Prayer:
Please join me now in a spirit of prayer.
God who reaches out to all of us in love and care, help us to be instruments of that love, reaching out to those near us in all the ways we can and giving generously to reach out to those who are further away.
Bless this offering, that it would be put to uses that you would be proud of. Bless us as well, with generous hearts and help us to build up our ability and conviction to give.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord, Amen.
