10-Dec-23 (Mark 1:1-8)

Both the Gospel and the Old Testament reading today talk about God's Good News coming into the world.  One place we hear and receive that Good News is here at the Table, where we hear that God loves us so much that God would not let anything come between God and us.  Jesus work, his life, and his death were to make the Good News come alive in our hearts and we celebrate that gift here and now.
Let us pray.

Prayer:

God, who's love knows no limit, we thank you for the gift of your Son.  We thank you that his death and resurrection opened the way for us to be right with you and each other.  We thank you for these symbols of bread and cup that remind us of all that Christ gave.  Now fill us with your Spirit, Lord, that we may be your messengers and those that make the way straight so all people can hear your Good News.
