19-Apr-26 (Luke 24:13-35)

The disciples that Jesus met on the road to Emmaus didn't recognize him, in spite of his opening the scriptures to them, until he broke the bread with them.  It was in the act of communion that they knew him for who he was and the course of their lives changed even as they changed the direction of their travels.  May our experience at the Table do the same for us.

Prayer:

God of us all,
We thank you for Jesus, who is known to us in these symbols of broken bread and cup.  As we remember Jesus sacrifice for us, prepare our hearts to boldly pursue his mission  We pray in the name of Jesus, our Host.
