8-Mar-26 (John 4:5-42)

Jesus crossed a lot of social barriers to sit and talk with the Samaritan woman at the well and, like sharing bread, sharing water was an act that equals and friends did.
The bread and cup before us are also meant to cross boundaries and bring people together as equals and friends. All are welcome here as children of the same father God.
Let us pray.

Prayer:

God who sent Jesus to us break down the barriers that separate us, we thank you for Jesus' example of meeting any and all. We thank you for all he taught us of your love for each and every one. We thank you that that love showed in all Jesus acts, especially in going to the cross so we could be reconciled with you.
As we take the bread and cup, symbols of that loving sacrifice, let us also take up Jesus' nature through your Holy Spirit so we too could cross boundaries and reach out to others in your name.
In the name of Jesus, who gave his life for us, Amen.
