01-Nov-26 All Saints Day

"We pass on to you what we ourselves received." Paul writes to the Corinthian congregation. Our service today is a celebration of those who have gone before us and have passed on these things and many other to us. So, as we remember the host of this meal, Jesus, let us also remember those who have also helped shape our lives of faith and helped us to live out Jesus' teachings.
As we share in the bread and cup, symbols of God's love for us, let us also remember those who were also signs in their own way of God's love for each and every one of us, those who showed us who Jesus is by what they said and did.
Let us pray.

Prayer:

God who sent us Jesus to teach us and show us the ways of your Realm, we thank you for all he did and taught us. We also thank you for all the people you placed in our lives to help us understand you and how to live our lives of faith.
We also thank you for these symbols of your love, the bread and cup. As we take them into ourselves, help us to commit ourselves to not only living out those lives of faith, but also in taking up our roles as part of your great cloud of witnesses, showing the way for others that come after us.
We pray in the name of Jesus, our Christ, Amen.
