6-Aug-23 (Matthew 14:13-21)

When Jesus fed the 5000, it was the bread and fishes that were multiplied by God's abundant grace to meet the needs of the people who had gathered around.  At the Table, God's abundant grace also fills us... and an amazing thing happens, if we allow it.  Our small, human abilities become multiplied, our faith grows, and our courage expands, all because we know where we stand with God -- all because we know that God loves us and will never allow sin to separate us from God.

Prayer:

God who fills us all, we thank you that your love for us is clear to us in the life and death of Jesus, our Christ.  Multiply all that we are by your grace that we can become all we need to be to serve you in this world.  Thank you for this bread and this cup, that remind us of how much you care for us and how small things can bring great meaning and change.
