DisciplesNet Worship #821 Epiphany 3 (P.Case 1.25.2026)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Psalm 27 is a prayer to God, first in praise of God for keeping the Psalmist from death, and then a request that the Psalmist could spend his days in worship and service to God. Our guest preacher, Rev. Patti Case, speaks to us from this Psalm about how our lives can be spent in worship and service.
Join us for 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

25-Jan-26 (Matthew 4:12-23)

"The people who dwelled in darkness have seen a great light."
But what exactly have they seen, perhaps something having less to do with physical light and more to do with life-giving and life-sustaining things.
When we participate in the work of the Church, whether it's directly with our own talents and abilities, or through our offerings providing the means for others to do so, we bring light and life into the world.… Read the rest “Offering Meditation for Epiphany 3A – 25-Jan-26”

25-Jan-26 (Matthew 4:12-23)

The passage in Matthew for today quotes a part of Isaiah, saying, "The people who dwelled in darkness have seen a great light."
Usually, when we hear "a great light," we tend to think of something like a searchlight stabbing through the darkness, overpowering it with sheer force or a laser which cuts through even hardened steel.… Read the rest “Table Meditation (Old Testament) for Epiphany 3A – 25-Jan-26”
