Sometimes it might seem to you that we adults know a lot... but I'm going to let you in on a secret: We don't know everything. Sometimes we need to learn how to do things just like you do. In our gospel story for today, for instance, Jesus was teaching his disciples how to pray.
Now that's something we really do need to learn how to do. Now here's another secret: Prayer is a lot of things, but mostly it's talking with God. Sometimes we talk and let God know how we feel about what's happening in our lives and in the world. Sometimes we listen and God lets us know how God feels about what's happening in our lives and in the world.
When Jesus taught his disciples to pray, he gave them an example prayer that we could look at to see how we can talk with God. The more we practice it, the better we get, especially at listening to God when God is speaking to us.

So let's do that now.
Father in heaven,
may we keep your name holy.
May your kingdom come here to earth as it is in heaven.
Give us what we need each day.
Forgive our sins,
For we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Amen.
