Our message in worship #68, "Heirs of Compassion," comes from Rev. Dr. Audrey Borschel, preaching on the texts 2 Kings 5:1-14, and Mark 1:40-45 --containing two stories of persons with leprosy who wished more than anything to be clean and back in community, Psalm 30, a response to God's compassion. Rev. Borschel knits these accounts together with the story of Father Damien (January 3, 1840 – April 15, 1889) who moved from his home in Belgium to devote his life to persons sent to live out their lives in a leper colony in Molokai, Hawaii.
This service also features original works of Audrey Borschel, "Cleanse Me, Heal Me," sung by Audrey Borschel and Dean Phelps; and "One Piece of Bread," sung by its writer, Thom Schuyler (both are used by permission).
Also, this week's worship pays tribute to one of the great healers of the 20th century, Rosa Page Welch (1900-1994), who used her singing voice and spirit of love and grace to build bridges where chasms were so vast that many thought this impossible to do. Featured here is Mrs. Welch singing the Spiritual, "There is a Balm in Gilead."
We hope you will join us for this short time of worship (just under 30 minutes), and will be blessed by participating. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that never close, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.
If you would like to chat with one of our pastors, please email us at email@example.com.
Instead of a call to offering within our worship video, we invite you to join others who made our presence on the internet highway with a sense of God's call to give to help support this ministry. We continue to grow steadily and have so many exciting projects planned to connect with people who have been connected from the church.
If you would like to be part of making this ministry possible through giving of a gift, this can be done by going to our website disciplesnet.org and going through Pay Pal or credit cards, by writing to our physical PO Box at:
PO Box 17935

or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
God bless you, and thank you for joining us!
