Psalm 71:4-5
Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the grasp of the unjust and cruel.
For you, O Lord, are my hope,
my trust, O Lord, from my youth.

 God who is never far from us,
Protect us from our enemies
       or those who would discredit or insult us.
In your righteousness claim us for your own,
        so that we know peace and not fear.
In Jesus’ name.
                                        Amen.
