What is the cost of being one of Jesus' disciples. Jesus warned us that it might be high. We might be called to give it all for the sake of bringing the Realm of God into being. Pastor Russ talks about the cost of discipleship, speaking from Luke 14:25-33 and, importantly, that the cost is worth it.
Join us for just over 27 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Jesus talked about "Living Water" which would bring eternal life to those who drank from it. Jerimiah talks about a well of "Living Water" which brings life, wholeness, health, and peace to those who draw from it. Pastor Deb looks at these passages and helps us to recognize our source of real life in faith in God.

Offering Meditation for Proper C17 – 31-Aug-25

A big part of the work of the Church is showing through our actions that all people should be valued, all people should be considered, all people should be actively welcomed and embraced.
We do this in many different ways, but one of the more important is helping those in need, comforting those who are sick and hurting, and actively remembering those who are forgotten and marginalized in our societies.… Read the rest “Offering Meditation for Proper C17 – 31-Aug-25”

Jesus often taught that life was much more than just following a set of rules. One has to pay attention to the purpose and goal of things. Rules are not an end, but a means toward living a life of purpose.
Pastor Mary Beth speaks to us from Luke 13:10-17, a story about Jesus healing a woman on the Sabbath and helps us to understand that Jesus was following "the Law of Love" as he did that.
