This where we gather with each other to pray, hear God’s word, and accept Christ’s invitation to the Table.

DisciplesNet Worship #629: Easter 7 (Shaw 5.29.2022)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Our message today is one of hope, coming from the story of Paul and Silas, in jail…but showing a most unusual behavior. Pastor Bob Shaw's message challenges us to bring the message of Acts forward into our lives, to release us and others from those things which bind us.
This worship service is just over 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Did you ever see a sign looming before you, and just knew: It’s time to turn around and go a different way? Sooner or later, most all of us have that experience. The Apostle Paul had a powerful sign, and because of it changed plans quickly for a trip to Macedonia. This week’s worship looks at such moments, the game changers. Our message, brought to us by Rev. Charles Webb, comes from Acts 16:1-15, the story of Paul and his meeting up with Lydia, maker of purple cloth. We invite you to weave this in with your own story. We hope that you will join us with this inspiring message, song, and prayer.
This worship service is just over 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. How do we go to God in prayer? Some folks recommend doing so with awe and reverence and even a little fear. Pastor Richard speaks to us from John 13:31-35 and shows us that the most important thing is sharing our authentic thoughts and feelings with God; that God knows us and loves us and wants us to be real with God and with each other.
This worship service is 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." The disciples had seen the risen Lord! Sometimes we wish that we could see Jesus with such clarity as they had. Can we? Pastor Russ speaks to us from John 20:19-31 about the ways we see Jesus here and now and what that can mean as we seek to live as "resurrection people."

We who have grown up in the Church have heard the story of the Prodigal Son, but Pastor Bob encourages us to look at the story in a new way, to examine the way in which the father in the story gives away things of great value to those who don't really appreciate them. Pastor Bob encourages us to look at this parable as the story of "the Prodigal God."
