DisciplesNet Worship #856, Proper 21 (Mullen, 09.27.2026)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Jesus was asked a lot of questions by people in authority about why he was doing what he was doing and who gave him the authority to do so. In the scripture for today, some Pharisees and Elders ask him this while he was at the temple. As Jesus sometimes did, he answers their question with one of his own. Mary Beth Mullen speaks to us from Matthew 21:23-32 about Jesus' authority and how we can follow him with confidence.
Our worship service just under 29 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.

What comes after confessing Christ as Savior? Watching some of the worst examples might give the idea that being a Christian means judging others and deciding for the world whose beliefs are right and are wrong. Rev. Russ Smith looks at it from another angle, however, preaching from the text of Matthew 16:13-20, of the Good Confession of the disciple Peter.

The first of Jesus' signs occurs at a wedding in Cana of Galilee, where Jesus turns wash-water into fine wine. It's an odd miracle.  Pastor Audrey speaks to us from John 2:1-11 and 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 to help us understand what this sign can it tell us about Jesus and his ministry.
Join us for 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." DisciplesNet Worship #633: Proper 8 (Shaw 6.26.2022)

There came a time in Jesus' ministry when "he set his face toward Jerusalem." Everything from that point on was to culminate in that last week and the clash with civil and religious authorities of his day. He knew the cost, yet "he set his face." Pastor Bob speaks to us from Luke 9:51-62 and show us how we can face those situations in our lives where we will clash with titanic forces.
This worship service is just over 27 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water.
