DisciplesNet Worship #809 All Saints Day – (Phelps 11.02.2025)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

We sometimes have this impression that "the saints" refers to those people who lived lives deserving to be honored and imitated, but when the writers of the New Testament used the term, they simply meant "the people of the church." So, the saints are people just like us, people with faults and failings, but people who are trying to live out their life of faith. Pastor Deb speaks to us from Luke 19:1-10 with some other references to help us realize that we too are saints, even when we fall short.
Join us for just over 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

As we seek to live the life of faith, it is often helpful to consider those who have made that effort before us. Those "saints" who faced the same struggles and knew many of the same joys that we do can help us stand firm in our faith. Pastor Bob speaks to us from Luke 19:1-10 and helps us remember those who have gone before us.
This worship service is just over 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. DisciplesNet Worship #328, “All Saints, All Together” (Smith 11.06.2016)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Last week and this we’re looking at the Saints of God. Is there any hope for each of us? Last week we learned that saints are not perfect people, but people called to serve and work together. This week we look at that working together part. God equips us and calls each to be part of something far bigger than we could ever imagine. Are you in? Please join us for worship—just over 28 minutes of song, scripture, prayer, praise, and reflection. Our scriptures are Matthew 5: 1-12 and Ephesians 4:1-7, 11-17. Continue reading →

DisciplesNet Worship #274, “Living God’s Love” (Shaw 11.01.2015)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

"Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise."  These words come to us from the Shema, the instructions given to the children of Israel through Moses--then recited again generations later by Jesus as we read in our scripture today, Mark 12:24-34.
We invite you to our worship today as we celebrate All Saints day--those who have come before us to teach us the way--then turn our hearts toward a sense of the parts we each have before us in working with others to follow the commands to Love God with everything we have, and our neighbor as ourselves. DisciplesNet Worship #164, “When Saints Come up Short” (D. Phelps 11.03.2013)

http://youtu.be/JSu-O9WuKYY

Greetings!
We invite you to join us for this week's 32-minute worship with DisciplesNet church, called to be here from around the world and around the clock. This week our Senior Pastor Deb Phelps brings an inspiring message about what happens when the saints of God come up short. Part of the story comes to us in the story of Zacchaeus, in Luke 19:1-10.

Also we hope you will blessed in participating in this worship with a special time of prayer and scripture, accompanied by music and lighting candles at the different stations, each in thanksgiving for those who have made a great difference in our life, and in our faith.

Also, as we do every week, we extend the invitation for you to join as we celebrate the Lord's Supper, also known as breaking of the bread, communion, and the Eucharist. We believe that it is Christ who invites us to the Table, and all who would say "yes" to that invitation may come before us, in reverence to take part.

The Lord's table has a way of bridging the barriers of time, place, and individual differences that may have been keeping separated. If you would like to join with us today, please prepare a small piece of bread or similar item, and some type of drink (we use grape juice, but other liquids including wine and water will work).

As we pray then for the bread and cup, we will pray that our blessing extends to where you are. If you are unable or prefer not to eat or drink with us at this time, you may want to meditate or use mental symbols during the time of remembering Christ.

We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part, and will share word about us with others. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.

If you are not satisfied with your time with us, we would appreciate knowing that, too, as we are constantly working to improve what we do and connect with people, and your feedback will help us grow better.
May God bless you richly!
