DisciplesNet Worship #130, “At Jesus Feet” (Cobb 03.17.2013)

To view this worship service in YouTube, click here.

Welcome to DisciplesNet worship!  We invite you to join us now for a short time of worship, less than 30 minutes.  In this time we will join together in song, God's word, prayer, communion, and a short message from Rev. Anita Cobb. In her message "At Jesus Feet," Rev. Cobb challenges us to put ourselves in the place of Mary, as told in John 12:1-8, as her heartfelt way of serving Jesus drew misunderstanding and criticism.

When you worship with DisciplesNet church, you are joining people in many times and places, yet at the same time, in the place and presence of God. Continue reading →

DisciplesNet Worship #128, “The Purposed Word,” (Shaw 03.03.2013)

We invite you to join us in a special time of worship with DisciplesNet Church this week, joining Rev. Bob Shaw as he gives our message, "The Purposed Word." Rev. Shaw draws upon the text from Isaiah 55:1-11 of how God's word goes into the world with purpose and does not return empty.
Our short worship together, 30 minutes includes prayer, scripture, singing, and listening to the word together with people in times and places all around the world.  We hope you will sing and pray along, either aloud or in your heart.
As we do every week, our time together includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread) where you may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me."
If you would like to share with us at the table that defies all boundaries of time, place, and structure, then we ask that you prepare a wafer, cracker, or bread and a drink. As we pray, we are praying that our blessing extends to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us. DisciplesNet Worship #127, “Seeing Through Fear” (Phelps 02.24.2013)

Our second Sunday in Lent looks at how the experience of the fear, the most basic of human emotions, brings us closer to our God and protector.  For this week's message, "Seeing Through Fear," Senior Pastor Deb Phelps draws from the writings about human fear and courage as shown in Psalm 27, as well as the God-like response of Jesus, recorded in Luke 13:34-35 as he longs to comfort God's people as a mother hen comforts her chicks.
Fear can take many forms, as can responses to it. Today we observe the second Sunday of special offering to the organization Week of Compassion, which allows us to participate in being there, providing comfort and assistance when disaster strikes around the world.

DisciplesNet Worship #126, “Sowing Compassion” (Gopp 02.17.2013)

Click here to view this video on YouTube.

This is a special week in worship at DisciplesNet.  Not only is it the first Sunday in Lent, it is part of the Week of Compassion, a special time of reflecting on the ways that God has blessed us to be able to give to others who are in need. Week of Compassion is a for-good organization that goes to places where disaster and tragedy has struck, and stays, finding ways to be God's hands and heart in the world.

What an honor and a blessing it is this week to have bringing the message for our DisciplesNet family, the Rev. Amy Gopp, the Executive Director of Week of Compassion.  Rev. Gopp draws on her experiences in serving and being served around the world, with a sermon entitled, "To God Be the Glory." Continue reading →

DisciplesNet Worship #116 Phelps, “The Continuing Story” (Phelps, 12.18.2012)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

We invite you to join us this Christmas for this week's worship, with a special message of hope from our Senior Pastor, "The Story Continues."  Our worship was especially created with the understanding that while some of our listeners may experience this holiday season as  "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year," as the song goes,  for others, it is the opposite, perhaps a very painful time.  Whether you are one full of joy, sorrow, or a combination this season, this worship is for you.

Our worship features special scripture of prophecy, and includes the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke, read by our leadership team.  Additionally, we offer inspiring special music by the duo Dean Phelps and Twana Harris, with Christmas favorites we've created for you to sing along with, if you'd like.  Beverly Heid provides the background music for our readings.
Today we also light the fourth advent candle,  If you have one at home, you may like to light yours while you follow along in scripture and music.

Our worship also includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread)--for which we extend the invitation given by Jesus Christ to all who would come.  If you would like to share with us in this time at the table that passes all boundaries of place, time, and walls, then we ask that you prepare a wafer, cracker, or bread and a drink, and we ask that our blessing will extend to where you are.  If you are unable to eat or drink, use a symbolic gesture or mental symbols of joining with us.
