DisciplesNet Worship #677: Easter 3 – (Shaw 4.23.2023)

Encountering the empty tomb leads to a lot of questions. We can handle those questions in a sort of minimal way, keeping our distance, not letting them really affect us. Or, like Peter, we can enter the empty tomb and face the questions directly. Pastor Bob speaks to us from John 20:1-9 recommending than instead of simply stooping to look in, we should boldly enter into thinking over the resurrection and come to a deep understanding of what it means for us.
Our worship service is 28 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion.
You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. Much of the Christian life is about service to others, but what of those times when our desire to serve becomes simple busyness? When does busyness rob us of the very engagement we are seeking to have? This worship service is 28 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion.
