They weren't sure what they should do, considering what was happening. They didn't know how to handle the situation. They were a bit afraid, very confused, and wondering how to keep the hope alive. They were on their way home when they met the stranger who helped them understand and hope again, but they only recognized Jesus when he broke bread with them.
Pastor Bob speaks to us from Luke 24:13-35 about the two on the road to Emmaus and how we are and can be just like them.
Join us for 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Ezekiel tells a story set in a "valley of dry bones," his plaintive question, "Lord, can these bones live?" In our lives we have times when it seems as though we and those around us have nothing more to give. It seems as though we are drained and lifeless. Pastor Anita speaks to us from Ezekiel 37:1-14 about the hope that God, breathing life into us, can restore us to life.
Join us for just under 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. Encountering the empty tomb leads to a lot of questions. We can handle those questions in a sort of minimal way, keeping our distance, not letting them really affect us. Or, like Peter, we can enter the empty tomb and face the questions directly. Pastor Bob speaks to us from John 20:1-9 recommending than instead of simply stooping to look in, we should boldly enter into thinking over the resurrection and come to a deep understanding of what it means for us.
Our worship service is 28 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion.
You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." DisciplesNet Worship #675: Easter Sunday – (Smith 4.9.2023)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

One of the most common images of Easter is the tomb with the stone rolled away. While this points toward the questions that Easter raises, it does not really provide the answer to what changed for the disciples to propel them out of their hiding to become bold witnesses. Witnesses to what? Not just the empty tomb, but the experiences of the risen, living Lord.
Pastor Russ speaks to us from John 20:1-18 about how the real miracle of Easter, for those disciples and for us, is the encounter with our risen, living Lord.
Our worship service just over 30 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion.
