DisciplesNet Worship #832 – Easter 2 (Mullen, 04.12.2026)

What do you do when Jesus shows up? Today's scripture tells the story of Jesus' disciples seeing Jesus after the resurrection and what they did for their ability to carry on the work that Jesus had started. Pastor Mary Beth speaks to us from John 20:19-31 and shows us that Jesus in action means we become able to take action ourselves in Jesus' name.
Join us for just under 28 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. There are a lot of times the phrase, "Peace be with you." appears in the Gospels. In John 20:19-31 Jesus says it to his disciples as he appears to them after his resurrection. Rev. Richard Spleth, Regional Minister of the Christian Church in Indiana speaks to us from this passage about how we can boldly be about the call of our Lord in our homes, communities, nations, and the world.

Last week we celebrated Easter Sunday. This Sunday we continue in the season of Easter, looking at what Jesus’ disciples learned when they were hiding behind closed doors, and especially what disciple Thomas came to more fully comprehend. What can all this teach us about our own faith?
We are especially grateful today to be able to share the words of Ms. Marjorie Hill, who served in India as a missionary for over 40 years. She tells of the special ways the message of Thomas’ ministry have grown up in India, giving account of his work as he went out into the world to share the Good News of a risen Savior.
