One of the most amazing stories of Jesus is when he goes to the home of his friend Lazarus, who had died a few days before, and raises him from the dead. This story is only in the Gospel of John. Some people see it literally, others see the telling of Lazarus’ story as a metaphor for the disciples of that time, and others see it through other different lenses. We invite you to worship today as we look at this passage, and the take away from it all, regardless of how we interpret the story: the love of God, the resurrection of a soul, can bring new life not just in the hear after—but in our everyday situations.

The story of Lazarus coming out of the tomb raises some of the most amazing images imaginable. This friend of Jesus had been sick, and had died.
