DisciplesNet Worship #786 Easter 6 – (Mullen 05.25.2025)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Jesus was always watching the edges, to see if someone was forgotten. In the scripture for today, Jesus seeks out a man who had been waiting at the Pool of Siloam to be healed for quite some time. Jesus made sure that he was no longer forgotten.
Pastor Mary Beth speaks to us from John 5:1-9 and shows us how, in the way of Jesus, we can offer new life to those around us.
Join us for just over 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

The disciples had seen the risen Lord! Sometimes we wish that we could see Jesus with such clarity as they had. Can we? Pastor Russ speaks to us from John 20:19-31 about the ways we see Jesus here and now and what that can mean as we seek to live as "resurrection people."
This worship service is 28 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. DisciplesNet Worship #351, “Learning from Lazarus” (Grogan 04.02.2017)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here

One of the most amazing stories of Jesus is when he goes to the home of his friend Lazarus, who had died a few days before, and raises him from the dead. This story is only in the Gospel of John. Some people see it literally, others see the telling of Lazarus’ story as a metaphor for the disciples of that time, and others see it through other different lenses.   We invite you to worship today as we look at this passage, and the take away from it all, regardless of how we interpret the story: the love of God, the resurrection of a soul, can bring new life not just in the hear after—but in our everyday situations.

The story of Lazarus coming out of the tomb raises some of the most amazing images imaginable. This friend of Jesus had been sick, and had died. By the time Jesus gets there, people think there's nothing left to do, but Jesus has other ideas. Our message today by Rev. Bob Shaw looks at John 11:17-45, a beautiful teaching Jesus gives about eternity, going way beyond the life and death of Lazarus. Continue reading →
