When Jesus says, in John 10:22-30, that his sheep listen and follow him, what does that mean and how do we listen and follow? Pastor Russ helps us understand what Jesus meant and the call that that places on all of us who wish to follow Jesus.
Join us for 29 minutes of prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, preaching as well as communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

In the space of less than a week Jesus went from a joyous entry into Jerusalem to being put to death by the powers in that city. Our staff does a dramatic reading of these events to help us understand them and, most importantly, understand the one who gave his life that we might know God's undying love for us.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
Matthew 5:3 NRSV
Then he looked up at his disciples and said:
“Blessed are you who are poor,
for yours is the kingdom of God.
“Blessed are you who are hungry now,
for you will be filled.… Read the rest “The Color of Easter – a devotion by Marci McGowan”

This week we continue in a time of Easter, still asking, “What Next?” for disciples who have seen the risen Lord. In this worship we look at how God guides us, beginning with the images from Psalm 23, and then how we come together under God’s guiding hand in our everyday lives and across the world. A lot has been written about Jesus’ last words, and as we observe Palm Sunday we will look at a few of those—but our main focus is on what Jesus did not say, and did not do. What comes to your mind? We hope you will join us as we worship, pray, sing, and praise God this week in worship, 30 minutes, with an inspiring message by Pastor Russ from Matthew 26. Whether you are worshipping as one, or in a group, as we come together we are the people of God together--and so glad that you are part.
As we do every week, our time together includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread) where you may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." We believe that Christ extends the invitation to all, and that we come not because we are wholly righteous, but that we are redeemed.
If you would like to share with us at the table we ask that you prepare a piece of a type of bread for you, and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers are given to extend to where you are.
If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us. (Scroll down for an Order of Worship)

ABOUT OUR DISCIPLES SHEEP:
You may notice in our videos that we have various stuffed sheep with us in worship. To us, these are not toys, but important parts of our church.
It happened this way: When we began producing worship as DisciplesNet in November 2010, one of the first problems we recognized was that when we are speaking to the people on the other end of a camera and internet, we cannot actually see the people to whom we were speaking. It was easy to speak to the other pastors in the room, but as we prayed and preached and spoke, we instead wanted to be reminded of the people for whom we were serving—including people whose best way to attend worship might be online. We wanted to be speaking to them---and as best we could hearing and telling their stories.
So, on a whim, we set some sheep that we’d used for a children’s sermon in front of our speakers, and found that helped! Before we knew it, their number was growing. They spilled over onto the table as we spoke. They have become dear to us and no longer children’s toys— but representations of all of the sheep of God’s pasture, all of God’s children—the real people like you, whom we may not be able to see in real life, but wish never to forget are there, and are each and everyone loved by God more than we can ever comprehend. Those sheep are why we are here.
God bless you, and thank you for joining us!
… Read the rest “Eastertide 2016 – a devotional by Marci McGowan”Now, let me ask you something profound yet troubling. If you became believers because you trusted the proclamation that Christ is alive, risen from the dead, how can you let people say that there is no such thing as a resurrection?
