Children’s Moment for Easter Sunday – 5-Apr-26

DisciplesNet

5-Apr-26 (John 20:1-18) or (Matthew 28:1-10)

We say that today is a celebration of Jesus' resurrection, do you know what that means? [Wait for answers]
In today's stories from the gospels we see that Jesus was dead and the disciples were going to visit his body to take care of it, but when they arrived at the place where he was buried, they found that he wasn't dead any more.… Read the rest “Children’s Moment for Easter Sunday – 5-Apr-26”

Table Meditation (Old Testament) for Easter Sunday – 5-Apr-26

DisciplesNet

5-Apr-26 (Jeremiah 31:1-8)

The scripture from Jeremiah for today foretells the time when the exiles would return to Israel from Babylon. It tells of joyful dancing and music-making celebrating their freedom and return to a place where they can thrive.
The elements at the table don't look like a feast, but they are a simple celebration of our freedom from sin and a glimpse our place in the realm of God.… Read the rest “Table Meditation (Old Testament) for Easter Sunday – 5-Apr-26”

DisciplesNet Worship #830 – Palm Sunday (Smith, 03.29.2026)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

A lot has been written about Jesus’ last words, and as we observe Palm Sunday, we will look at a few of those—but our main focus is on what Jesus did not say and did not do. Pastor Russ speaks to us from Matthew 26:57-62 and 27:11-13 and shows us the power of silence.
Join us for just under 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Table Meditation (Old Testament) for Palm/Passion Sunday 29-Mar-26

DisciplesNet

29-Mar-26 (Isaiah 40:4-9a)

In the Old Testament reading for today we hear the words, probably of the prophet himself, of one who endures all kinds of harm without returning harm in turn, waiting for the Lord to vindicate him. One can't read this without thinking of Jesus, quietly enduring "such contradiction of sinful people" as he made his way ultimately to the cross. … Read the rest “Table Meditation (Old Testament) for Palm/Passion Sunday 29-Mar-26”

Ezekiel tells a story set in a "valley of dry bones," his plaintive question, "Lord, can these bones live?" In our lives we have times when it seems as though we and those around us have nothing more to give. It seems as though we are drained and lifeless. Pastor Anita speaks to us from Ezekiel 37:1-14 about the hope that God, breathing life into us, can restore us to life.

Offering Meditation for Lent 5a – 22-Mar-26

DisciplesNet

22-Mar-26 (John 11:1-45)

Meditation:

It might be a bit of an oversight in scripture that Lazarus was never talked about again. What would it have been like to literally be a living, breathing, testament to the power of God?
We may never have our lives restored by God in that way, but we too can be living, breathing testaments to God's power and love through our actions in this world.… Read the rest “Offering Meditation for Lent 5a – 22-Mar-26”
