DisciplesNet Worship #736: Proper 5 – (Gilvin 6.09.2024)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

The Church is referred to as "the Family of God." How far and how wide does that family extend? Rev. Brandon Gilvin speaks to us from Mark 3:20-35 to help us understand just how big the family of God is.
Join us for 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.

DisciplesNet Worship #377 “Disputable Things” (Smith 09.17.2017)

Paul, writing to the Romans, describes how life within the Church should be. As a sign of our love for each other, we should accept and welcome the fact that all of us have different ways of working out our walk of faith. Paul warns us about being arguing amongst ourselves about things that really are a matter of choice.
We hope that you will join us in our worship, just over 26 minutes of prayer, scripture, song, and inspiring message from Pastor Russ, from Romans 14:1-5.

And as we do every week, our time together includes a time of communion (breaking of the bread) where you may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." We believe that Christ extends the invitation to all, and that we come not because we are wholly righteous, but that we are redeemed.
If you would like to share with us at the table we ask that you prepare a piece of a type of bread for you, and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers are given to extend to where you are.
If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us. (Scroll down for an Order of Worship)

DisciplesNet Worship #308, “Be Reconciled” (Huber 06.19.2016)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

The Corinthians were having a tough go of getting along with each other. Know anyone like that? When anger, pride, hurt feelings, resentment, sin get between members of a church—one needs the Apostle Paul’s teachings to remind us that we can be reconciled by putting something else between us. That’s our theme today, using the scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:11-21. Minister Daren Huber will be bringing our message. Continue reading →

DisciplesNet Worship #302, “Being One” (Huber 05.08.2016)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

Something BIG is at work among Christians, often despite ourselves. Somehow we keep being called and drawn together even when we think we'd prefer not to be around ‘those’ people, even around other Christians, but ones we may not really like.
Perhaps some of it is in Jesus prayer for his disciples to be one that he prayed all those years ago, with a special part that especially carries forward even to where we are today. Our scripture today is from John 17:20-26, and our team member Daren Huber asks us to consider special places that help us feel closer to God and to each other. Where might that be for you? DisciplesNet Worship #290, “So Close” (Smith 02.14.2016)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here

It is oh, so tempting in our faith to operate with our own views and practices at the center of everything--the world.  Yet Jesus calls us far beyond this way of belief.  Our worship today looks at how difficult yet necessary it is to take the higher, better plan that Jesus has for being the church that may disagree on most everything else, but can be united in love.
