When we hear the story of the man with two sons, we often think about the "prodigal son" and the father. We don't often think about the older son. Pastor Amy speaks to us from Luke 15:1-3 and 11b-32 to help us realize how God's love can speak to those of us who have "been in the household" of faith for a long time and might be jealous of the newer folks.

One of the most important things we can do for each other is to pray for each other. These "prayers of intercession" can sometimes place us in the role of asking forgiveness and forbearance from God on for the sake of others. Pastor Anita speaks from Exodus 32:7-14 about one such case where Moses prayed for God to forgive the Israelites from their "stiff-neckedness" and helps us understand the importance of asking God to forbear judgement.
This worship service is just over 31 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a few favorite hymns, and communion. We who have grown up in the Church have heard the story of the Prodigal Son, but Pastor Bob encourages us to look at the story in a new way, to examine the way in which the father in the story gives away things of great value to those who don't really appreciate them.
