DisciplesNet Worship #826 (Smith, 03.01.2026)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

The Pharisee Nicodemus came to Jesus at night to ask him some questions that had been burning in his mind. He wanted to know what Jesus knew about the Realm of God and how people could live as God's servants. He wanted to know about how God's spirit could live in human beings. Pastor Russ speaks to us from John 3:1-17 about how God's spirit can live in us as well.
Join us for just under 29 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

DisciplesNet Worship #670: Lent 2 – (Shaw 3.05.2023)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

We continue our emphasis in this season of Lent on stumbling blocks, those obstacles in our path of life that will cause us to stumble and maybe fall. Today Pastor Bob looks at the story of Jesus meeting Nicodemus at night and shows us how seeking to safely put our faith in place in our lives will cause us to stumble, how our faith must be the organizing principle of our lives.
Our worship service is just under 30 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion.
You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. DisciplesNet Worship #185, “Born From Above” (R.Smith 03.16.2014)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

What is it like to have everything you thought you knew challenged? This happened to Nicodemus, a religious leader who came to Jesus at night when his colleagues were dismissing Jesus' claims, but had the insight to believe their might be more to them. We hope that you will join us for this short time of worship and hear Pastor Russ Smith look at Jesus and Nicodemus' interaction, and see what is in it for us today. Rev. Smith speaks from the Gospel of John, 3:1-17. Continue reading →

DisciplesNet Worship # 87, “Nicodemus at Night,” (Shaw 6.03.2012)

Welcome to DisciplesNet Worship. This week's worship brings together Isaiah's exciting vision of being in the presence the most holy God, with Jesus' words with the Pharisee, Nicodemus, who came to talk with Jesus in the secret of night.  Rev. Bob Shaw blends these two messages into a call toward change in our lives that comes as God calls us. Accompanying our message are our congregational singers singing "Holy, Holy, Holy and Here I Am, Lord," and Phoebe Spier singing Santo, Santo, Santo during our time of communion. Continue reading →

Spirit, prayer song from DisciplesNet Church

To watch this video on YouTube, click here.

Spirit is a favorite hymn that tells a story in its four verse God's Spirit through the ages, including in our life today.
All four verses of the song are sung here, with accompanying photos and video. It is sung by Dean Phelps and accompanied by Sue Dykes on the piano. Our disclaimer is that when we recording the song, Dean and Sue were practicing, but we enjoyed it enough to share it with you, with their permission. We hope you are blessed by following along with us.
At the end, we also offer the scripture from Jesus' instructions to Nicodemus in John 3:6-8.
Spirit is available in several hymnals and forms, including the Chalice Hymnal, page # 249.
The words and music are written by James K. Manley, 1975.

DisciplesNet Church creates worship opportunities for persons who are unable to get to a physical church, and
others who like to share in the resources. This video is made available by those who have given their gifts to helpi in this ministry. We are non-profit and all gifts go back into ministry.
Thanks for joining us, and God bless you.
