Offering Meditation for Proper 5a – 7-Jun-26

DisciplesNet

7-June-26 (Genesis 12:1-9)

Throughout the history of Israel, prophets would remind them that Abraham was a stranger and wanderer to remind them of their responsibility to extend hospitality to others who were strangers and wanderers among them, not simply to tolerate people who lived among them, but to welcome and embrace them, giving them the care and concern they would want extended to them.… Read the rest “Offering Meditation for Proper 5a – 7-Jun-26”

DisciplesNet

7-Jun-26 (Genesis 12:1-9)

Have you ever had to do something really important, where people were counting on you to do it? [Wait for answers]
In the Old Testament reading for today, God tells Abraham that God wants him to do something very important, but to do it, Abraham is going to have to move to a new place and, along the way, Abraham is going to have to deal with a lot of people he doesn't know yet and do things he hasn't done yet too.… Read the rest “Children’s Moment for Proper 5a – 7-Jun-26”

DisciplesNet Worship #839, The Great Commission (Cobb, 05.31.2026)

Jesus was no longer to be with them in the body and yet, he was calling them to even greater things than they had ever done with him. Pastor Anita speaks to us from Matthew 28:16-20 about how we have the presence of God with us at all times and can, as those earliest disciples did, boldly go into our world.
Join us for just under 30 minutes of worship, prayer, scripture, a number of favorite hymns, and communion. You may choose to participate or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

Table Meditation and Prayer for Pentecost-a – 24-May-26

DisciplesNet

24-May-26 (Acts 2:1-21)

It's interesting how many great things start with just a little.  From twelve confused and scared apostles came, in the day of Pentecost, over 3000 believers.  From small tongues of fire came understanding and belief.

Here at the Table, we celebrate the community of faith that began that day and, even now, is bound together through such small things as a piece of bread and a sip of juice.  … Read the rest “Table Meditation and Prayer for Pentecost-a – 24-May-26”
