This where we gather with each other to pray, hear God’s word, and accept Christ’s invitation to the Table.

DisciplesNet Worship #718: Epiphany 5 – (Phelps 2.04.2024)

God looks at success and failure in a different way than we usually do. Pastor Deb speaks to us from Isaiah 40:21-31 about God's perspective and how we can seek to think about these things in a way more like God.
Our worship service is 30 minutes of prayer, some favorite hymns, teaching, and communion.
You may choose to participate, or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me." If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink such as grape juice, wine, or water. As we pray, our prayers extend to where you are. If you are unable to eat or drink, you may want to use a symbolic gesture or mental symbol as you come together at this table of remembrance with us.

We hope that as you join us for worship you will feel a blessing from being part. Please tell friends, family, and others you know about our online church that is here with doors that are always open, walls as wide as the world, and always room at the table.

People were amazed when Jesus preached, in part because "He spoke with authority" and in part because of the way he handled power and authority and taught about it. Now that we've celebrated Christ's coming, what's next? In this worship service Rev Anita Cobb reminds us that God has made us "joint heirs" with Jesus; that we are graciously welcomed into God's family. Join us as Rev Cobb tells us about that grace and the responsibilities we have in responding to it.

This worship includes special opportunities to follow along in singing, prayer, and scripture. As we do every week, we will share communion together at the end of worship (breaking of the bread). We pass along the invitation to join in or simply meditate as we tell of Jesus' invitation to "do this in remembrance of me."

If you would like to share with us at the table that goes beyond all earthly boundaries of time, place, and structure, we ask that you prepare a piece of bread of some type and a drink, such as grape juice, wine, or water.
