And if you stay to the very end—you’ll have a choose a part and hold on as we sing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handle’s Messiah. So much here that we hope by the time you are finished, your heart will be full with just some of the miracle of Christmas. Continue reading →

Happy New Year, and welcome to DisciplesNet Worship!  Today in this second Sunday after Christmas we continue to celebrate the birth of the Christ child.  As we look ahead for how to react in this new year in a world that seems to be spilling over with fear, hate, and trouble, our worship today draws upon the prophets of old who reminded people to not fear, but instead look to God and God's ways.   We are most honored to have Reverend Shannon Dycus bringing our message today--a friend of our DisciplesNet staff and niece of our DisciplesNet regular Rev. Charles Webb.  Rev. Dycus draws upon the popular movie, The Truman Show, and the image within it when things went wrong, to "Cue the sun!"  How would this look in your life? Our world?

DisciplesNet Worship #283 “Let the Child Grow, ” (Shaw 12.27.2015)

To watch this worship service on YouTube, click here.

"A tiny baby, lying in a manger……" is the image we see of Jesus so much this time of year. And in worship this week, the first Sunday after Christmas Day, we celebrate the birth of Christ. We'll sing some of our favorite Christmas hymns and more. Yet Pastor Bob Shaw reminds us, in message based upon Luke 2:41-52, that we cannot leave Jesus in the manger. He became a man and we need to let Jesus do that very thing in our minds and hearts. Our prayer is that this worship will be meaningful to you, with a chance to celebrate the birth of Christ as we grow into followers of Christ. Continue reading →

Welcome to DisciplesNet Church, an online church with walls as wide as the world, doors that are always open, and always room at the table.

We invite you to join us for this special weekly worship for the fourth Sunday in Advent, just before Christmas Eve.

This worship has a special message from Rev. Russ Smith about, and the lighting of the fourth candle in the advent wreath. We hope you will join us in a time of prayer and lighting candles, in singing Christmas songs, hearing the Christmas story, and at the end of worship, sharing in communion together.

If you would like to share in communion physically, please make ready a piece of bread or similar food and some type of drink (we use grape juice, but other liquids including wine and water will work). These represent the broken body and the blood of Jesus Christ given on our behalf.

Also, if you would like to join us in lighting a candle, we will have a chance to do that after communion as our time together comes to a close. Continue reading →
