Welcome to our 12-minute "Gift of Pentecost," with song, scripture, and a trip around the world you'll not soon forget. After our volunteers read the Acts 2:1-2 scripture about the birth of the church at Pentecost, we'll begin our trip around the world, with multiple generations of readers in 17 world languages reminding us of Jesus' Great Commandment (John 13:34-35), "A new commandment I give to you: Love one another."
We invite you to join us in this short video of "Drifting Too Far From the Shore," a traditional old gospel tune by Charles E. Moody, recorded by Dean Phelps on his CD, Going Over Home (1997). We hope that you will be blessed by the song and its lyrics, and the photos and artwork we have put with it...and we invite you to sing along with the lyrics.

We invite you to join us in the uplifting song, "On Eagles Wings." This is sung by two pastor-musicians, Twana Harris and Dean Phelps, who came to our DIsicplesNet studio to sing hymns and spiritual songs for our DisciplesNet audience around the world. We hope that you will be uplifted in listening, and singing along if you would like. After the song you will find the scripture reading that the song was written about: Isaiah 40:28-31.
This video has a special Dedication to persons struggling in the aftermath of the May 2013 tornadoes in Oklahoma as this video was being created, as well as all others who are dealing with the storms of life.

We believe that God's love is for all people without exception, including people who may not be able to be part of a traditional church. We are learning as we go, and appreciate your patience in the places where our videos are not perfect.

DisciplesNet worship #99, "Not Expendable," brings a rich message from DisciplesNet's Rev. Russ Smith as he looks at the story of the ninety and nine sheep from Luke 15:1-7.
Along with the message we have the special guest of singer-songwriter Dean Phelps playing two of his songs about lost and found, "The Ninety and Nine," and his own creation, "If You Come Up Empty," telling the story of how he came to write this song.… Read the rest “DisciplesNet Worship # 99, “Not Expendable,” (Russ Smith 08.26.2012)”
