This week we continue in a time of Easter, still asking, “What Next?” for disciples who have seen the risen Lord. In this worship we look at how God guides us, beginning with the images from Psalm 23, and then how we come together under God’s guiding hand in our everyday lives and across the world. Not long after the church got going all those centuries ago, two things really BIG happened—the day of Pentecost, where many people came together as One in the Holy Spirit. And….people began struggling with human challenges in being one—in keeping that Spirit alive and not dividing the body of Christ. We hope that you’ll join us today as we struggle with this age-old problem of Christians, and look at hope in the love that Jesus Christ showed us how to keep first and foremost in our lives—so that the World would know that God loved them. The Holy Spirit will travel on the bridges we build. That’s the idea we look at this Pentecost Sunday, while taking an extra long look at the boost that Jesus’ disciples got from the technology of the day, in some ways similar to now.
In addition to Acts 2:1-12, we’ll also take a look at the prophecy of Isaiah. Continue reading →

Welcome to our 12-minute "Gift of Pentecost," with song, scripture, and a trip around the world you'll not soon forget. After our volunteers read the Acts 2:1-2 scripture about the birth of the church at Pentecost, we'll begin our trip around the world, with multiple generations of readers in 17 world languages reminding us of Jesus' Great Commandment (John 13:34-35), "A new commandment I give to you: Love one another."

Spirit is a favorite hymn that tells a story in its four verse God's Spirit through the ages, including in our life today.
All four verses of the song are sung here, with accompanying photos and video. It is sung by Dean Phelps and accompanied by Sue Dykes on the piano. Our disclaimer is that when we recording the song, Dean and Sue were practicing, but we enjoyed it enough to share it with you, with their permission. We hope you are blessed by following along with us.
At the end, we also offer the scripture from Jesus' instructions to Nicodemus in John 3:6-8.
Spirit is available in several hymnals and forms, including the Chalice Hymnal, page # 249.
The words and music are written by James K. Manley, 1975.
DisciplesNet Church creates worship opportunities for persons who are unable to get to a physical church, and
others who like to share in the resources. This video is made available by those who have given their gifts to helpi in this ministry. We are non-profit and all gifts go back into ministry.
Thanks for joining us, and God bless you.
